GHV Homecoming 2025: GHV vs Central Springs

GARNER - "Board Games - Cardinals Play to Win!" is the theme at Garner-Hayfield-Ventura this week for Homecoming 2025. The coronation of the GHV Homecoming King and Queen will be Thursday, Oct. 2. 1:25 at the high school gym.
Five young ladies from the senior class are candidates for Queen. They are: Jaelyn Anderson, daughter of Grant and Brenda Anderson; Brinlyn Derr, daughter of Chris & Chelsie Derr; Ava Dirks, daughter of Jared Dirks and Sara Anderson Myra Rauk, daughter of Kevin Raul and Karla Rauk; and Isabella Schisel, daughter of Joe and Stacy Schisel.
Homecoming King candidates are: Erik Baumgard, son of Bob and Heather Baumgr; Kaleb Feld, son of Brian and Amy Feld; Brighton Kraus, son of Ken and Rhondele Kraus; Jonah Pringnitz, son of Jerry and Karrie Pringnitz; Reed Raul, son of Kevin Rauk and Karla Rauk.
The homecoming theme is carried out in a variety of activities. Each class assigned a classic board game. Seniors: Candyland “Too Sweet to Beat.” Juniors: Life “Winning at the Game of Life.”Sophomores: Monopoly “Cardinals Roll the Dice, Panthers Pay the Price.” Freshmen: Mousetrap “Cage the Cats”
Monday was ‘Merica Monday. The GHV Cross Country team hosted a meet at the Garner Golf Course on Monday.
Country vs. Country Club is was the theme on Tuesday. Hallway decorating took place both days. The GHV Volleyball team play Hampton-Dumont at home on Tuesday.
Hawaiian/Beach Day is today, (Wednesday, Oct. 1) He-Man volleyball also take place today.
Game Theme Day is Thursday. In addition to the coronation and pep rally, Thursday's activities at the high school include float building and a powderpuff football tournament.
Hall of Fame
At 7 p.m. the 2025 Garner-Hayfield-Ventura Hall of Fame induction program will be held in the high school auditorium. This year, Sara Linneman Carlson (G-H standout golfer), Paul Nelson (former teacher and coach) and the Garner-Hayfield 2001-02 Boys Basketball team will be honored. The public is invited to attend the program
Friday is Red & Black Day. GHV's Homecoming Parade downtown Garner at 2 p.m.is followed by a pep rally at the high school gym at approximately 2:45 p.m.
Parade Grand Marshal
The GHV Student Council is excited to announce that Chris Juhl will be the 2025 Homecoming Grand Marshal! Chris has been involved with the GHV school district for nearly 50 years and has made a huge impact on our students and community. He’s been a referee for 47 years, supporting our student-athletes and showing up for countless games.
Juhl drove bus routes and took teams to sporting events for 16 years - always offering a fist bump and a “good luck” before every game. He didn’t just drop students off - he stayed to cheer them on. Chris has always gone above and beyond to support GHV, both on and off the field. We’re proud to honor him as someone who truly represents the spirit of our school.
The Cardinal football team will face the Central Springs Panthers on the gridiron on Friday. Kickoff is 7 p.m.
