Candidates file for Nov. 4 City/School Elections

There are few contested races alongside many filled positions, and a few open seats for the Tuesday, Nov. 4 elections for mayor/city council and school board. The deadline for candidates to file nomination papers to be on the ballot was Thursday, Sept. 18. 
CITY ELECTIONS
Garner
Tim Schmidt is reapplying for mayor of Garner. Garner voters will elect three to council seats. Candidates are Damon Quandt (incumbent), Darrell Schumacher, and Matt Graham.
 
Britt
James L. Nelson is reapplying for mayor of Britt. Britt voters will elect two council seats. Candidates on the ballot are Todd Romer and Noland Stewart filed to fill vacancies on the council.
 
Corwith
Matt Hobscheidt is reapplying for mayor of Corwith. A race has developed for two Corwith council seats. Corwith voters will choose between candidates Spencer Hankins, Sharon Spellins, and Scott A. Peterson.
 
Crystal Lake
Shawn Dontje is reapplying for mayor of Crystal Lake. Crystal Lake voters will elect two council seats. Candidates are Karen L. Pergande and Diane M. Smith (both are incumbents).
 
Goodell
Barbara Schaefer is reapplying for mayor of Goodell. Goodell voters will elect three council seats. Candidates are Karen Green, Mark Stille, and Angela Kern, all of whom are incumbents. Theresa A. Beck filed to fill a vacancy on the council.
 
Kanawha
Mathieu Lemay is running for election as mayor of Kanawha. Lemay is currently a member of the city council. A Race has developed for three Kanawha city council seats. Kanawha voters will choose between candidates Tim Lodin, Chad Lang, Phyllis Jordanger, and Dana L. Kraft. Jessica Fowles filed to fill a vacancy on the council.
 
Klemme
Ken Blank seeks reelection as mayor of Klemme. Klemme voters will elect three council seats. Incumbent David Abele is a candidate. Nobody filed to fill a vacancy on the council.
 
Woden
A race has developed for mayor of Woden. Woden voters will choose between Susan Brandt or current mayor Paul Buns. Woden voters will also elect three council seats. Candidates include Andrew Plessel, William Rout, and Jeff Stucki, and of whom are incumbents.
 
SCHOOL BOARD ELECTIONS
Garner-Hayfield-Ventura Community School District
Candidates for three school board director at-large seats are as follows:

Dan Goll - President
Jack Toppin - Incumbent
Jay Larkin - Vice-President
Karla Juenger-Rudisill
 
West Hancock Community School District
No candidate is on the ballot for school board director at-large. Jeremy Brogaard is a candidate for school board Director District 1. A race has developed for an open seat for school board Director District 3. West Hancock voters will choose between either incumbent Jay Burgardt or Robert Eugene White JR.
