2nd Annual Oktoberfest, Saturday at Garner!

GARNER - Wunderbar! The 2nd annual Oktoberfest will be held this Saturday, Sept. 27 at Garner!

The Garner Chamber of Commerce will host this all-day event (10 a.m. to 11 p.m.) at Central Park. 

The day will include free live entertainment, fun contests, fall vendors, games and prizes, German food and a beer garden.

Ach, du lieber! In a lighthearted nod to Garner's German heritage join in "German Shenanigans!"

•Hammer-Schlagen (10 a.m.)

•Oktoberfest Cornhole Registration at12 noon. Competition at 1 p.m.

•Best dressed for Oktoberfest. (1:30 p.m.) Prizes awarded for best dressed, couple, teen, adult, and child.

•Yodeling competition (1:30 p.m.)

•Keg toss (5:30 p.m.) 

•Masskrugstemmen (Stein competition at 6:30 p.m.)

Oktoberfest will have plenty of music! Scheduled performers are: Jeff Boehnke (10 a.m.), Rural Route (Noon), Jesse Calvert (3 p.m.), Luke Farland (5 p.m.) and the Anthony Koester Band (8 p.m.)
