Local Disaster Proclamation Following Storm

After experiencing significant wind damage from the storm on 7/28/25 the City of Garner has issued a local disaster proclamation. This step helps us access additional resources and support for storm cleanup and recovery.

High winds brought down trees, limbs, and power lines throughout town, and some homes, businesses and properties suffered damage. City and emergency crews have already started working on cleanup, but the proclamation helps us speed up the process and work with county and state emergency officials if needed.

Alliant Energy and Prairie Energy have been working hard to restore power as quickly and safely as possible.

Please stay out of the way and allow crews the space to safely do their work. This includes utility workers, public works, and emergency responders. Your cooperation helps speed up recovery efforts.
