Garner woman in fatal motorcycle accident

A Garner woman died of injuries sustained in a motorcycle/semi accident, Wednesday, June 4, in Floyd County. The accident about 9:10 a.m. on Hwy. 18, east of Floyd, Iowa, near mile marker 211.

According to the Iowa State Patrol, Ruby May Golnick, 66, was riding a 2019 Kawasaki motorcycle and pulled in front of an east bound semi-truck from Caledon, Ontario and was struck. The driver of the semi, 24, was not identified by name and was not injured.

Agencies assisting at the scene included the Floyd County Sheriff's Office, Floyd Fire Department, and AMR Ambulance Service of Charles City.

A memorial service for Ruby Golnick will be held Wednesday, June 11, 10:30 a.m. at the Garner Evangelical Free Church, with Pastor Clevey Ragsdale officiating.
